Wow, I've wanted to submit this for the longest time, but none of the scanners I tried showed the fine details. Well, I found one, so here they are straight from my brilliant little mind. Once again I am allowing anyone and everyone who want to animate one of these little guys full artistic freedom. I do ask that you give me credit for the idea, as they are all original. If it looks like something you’ve already seen then it’s purely coincidence. Please send me a note/message/link to the art so I can +fav it.

I have had these done for several months now, and I don't keep any of my artwork in folders or containers or anything so it might be slightly smudged, or otherwise f*d up. Oh well, it was the ideas more than anything that I was trying to portray. And since even this can become misconstrued, I am going to very carefully detail every one of them in case you missed something.

1) Holo-Flomp ~ Smiley goes to glomp his friend only to be duped by a hologram, he however isn’t smart enough to realize this, so attempted to glomp the hologram ad infinitum. Notice the 3 arrows above panel 8. I use the >>> sign to show which way the screen pans. I use this on several other emotes.

2) TY 4 teh +fav glomp ~ Smiley favs, smiley gets glomped, the +fav button grows dark again for some majic reason that allows this emote to loop.

3) Tarzan Glomp ~ A very painful glomp that has tarzan jumping from a vine onto his unwary victim. When Tarzan hits his intended target they slide a bit (due to the force) and the smiley leaves a trail of what I can only imagine is a mixture of saliva, blood and skin.Taran then continues merrily on his way.

4) AOE Insta-death ~ For those of you who have not played Age of Empires, you can click on any unit (my favorite victims being the helpless little villagers) and press what I like to call the "insta-death" button. Your villager then cries out like they've just been hit in the chest with a baseball bat, fall over, and die. Then comes the maniacle laughter, because killing the things is just so much evil fun.

5) Frog Tard ~ Pretty much self explanatory, smiley's tarded little freing eats a fly as if he was a frog. Smiley goes through several phases of being disgusted as Tard chews and eats the fly. Panle 11, in case you can't tell, has smiley looking at tards throat. The little lines above his eyebrows, are something i see in anime all the time to emote displeasure with something.

6) Zombie Onslaught ~ I am quite proud of this one. Our brave smiley holds of 3 very tenacious zombies with an automatic... umm... BIG GUN. In frame 2 and 4, the zombies are being slowly knocked backward by the power of the gun. In frame 6 the third zombie manages to squeeze through the other two, only to be annihilated in frame 8. I drew the zombies very large so that you can get a good look at the damage being done. In frame 7 he runs out of ammo and has to reload, luckily he has time to, as the last 3 zombies have been taken care of. The next group of zombies begins to advance just as he finishes loading, and the cycle continues ad infinitum. This is not meant to be a small emoticon, and will likely take up a 50x150-200 pixel square (still samll, but you get my point). I drew up the actual distance in frames 16 and 17 to give you a good idea of what I'm talking about.

7) Buh-Bye Birdy ~ I got all giddy and excited when I thought of this one. It's cute, it's funny, and best of all you get to see the feathers blown off a bird by a rather large sneeze. What happens is, after calling the bird to his finger, smiley gives the bird and "eskimo kiss." Unfortunately Smiley is allergic to the dander in the birds feathers and sneezes abruptly causing the bird to explode in a cloud of feathers. Note the look of horror on his face. When the feathers clear and the dust settles the bird is gone. Smiley shakes his head, gets over it and whistles for another bird.

8) Phun w/ Phoenix Downs ~ For anyone who hasn't played any of the games in the Final Fantasy series, there is a reaccuring item called the "Phoenix Down." They are not all that hard to get, but still one must pay homage to the fact that they revive one of your fallen team members, bringing them back from the dead. At the beggining of the emote we don't know why the first emoticon is mad, but he's waving his fist in the air and comlaining so it must have been bad. The character with the large sword does not seem to be effected by these outbursts of anger at all, but still he whips out his sword and kills emoticon #1. He sheaths his sword and pulls out a feather, the "Phoenix Down." The phoenix down disappears in a cloud of sparkels and emoticon #1 grows with a brilliant light which shine from his entire being. The light evaporates leaving emoticon #1 looking stunned and confused. He is very pissed at being killed and resurrected for what must be the ump-teenth time now, so begins his tirade anew. Note!!! that the expression of emoticon #2 doesn't chang AT ALL during the entire process. He's probably been at this for hours now.

9) Mirror Flomp ~ This one is a bit hard to follow so please pay attention to the pan-arrows below some of the frames. Emote 1 sees emote 2 ans smiles baring his fangs. He jumps straight into the air, spreading his wings out and dive-bombing emote 2 (if you haven't realized now he's a vampire). Unfortunatley he hits a wall (mirror) right before glomping (and sucking the blood of) emote 2. Dazed and half-unconcious, he lies there as the camera pans to the left showing you the emote who's reflection the vampire saw in the mirror he attacked. He gets up without memory of hitting the mirror (concussion, maybe?) and attempted the glomp again.

10) ??? ~ Umm... I dunno what to call it, but he cuts some bullets in half, so that's cool. He's walking along, and suddenly spies and enemy (which can show on the screen or not, it doesn't really matter), the enemy then spies him and starts shooting. He progresses slowly toward his enemy deflecting 3 bullets, cutting one in half horizontally, the next one in half vertically, and finally swinging his sword up and cleaving the pistol in twain. The momentum then carries him past his enemy whom he slice in half without getting a drop of blood on him. He flicks his sword to clean it off, sprinkling the wall with any blood that was left on his blade and continues forward. Then the whole thing loops.

?) The Emote sitting in a rocket ship in the bottom-left corner, soaring around the planet, is inspired by an animation on Shin Chan. It was not an original idea, so I didn't mark i as one of my emoticons. I like it none-the-less.

I make a big deal about looping my animations fluently, and I beleive I've succeeded with all of these. Once again, ANYONE can animate these in any stlye they want, and they can change anything they want, just give daddy some screen credit, K?

This was done with a .5 mechanical pencil on .5 inch Genkoyoushi graph paper.

Genkoyoushi graph paper is, in my opinion, a great time saver when planning an emoticon, or anything that requires more than one frame. You can find some here [link] and they'll send you a pdf for free that you can print out on your own.
